M.D prescribed treatment | Consultation required | Treat aging | Improve scarring | Treat hair loss.
- What does Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy do?
Supports and accelerates the process of tissue regeneration and repair (including remodelling of collagen fibres, blood vessels and hair structures). Suitable for the treatment of tired and dry skin, skin ageing, overall skin texture and tone, certain types of hair loss and general hair thinning. Patients typically choose this treatment as a natural alternative to cosmetic fillers as the process utilises the patients own blood components to stimulate a natural healing response (rejuvenation) in the body.
- How is PRP administered?
Blood is taken directly from the patient (similarly to a blood test) and centrifuged, which separates the red blood cells from PRP using a special gel. The PRP is then directly injected into the focus area to support and help accelerate the process of tissue regeneration and repair.
- How many treatments are required?
The number of treatments required will vary depending on your skin condition, lifestyle etc. Three treatments, 4-6 weeks apart is normal.
- What happens afterwards?
Most patients can resume normal activity almost immediately after their treatment (eg, return to work). Some clients may experience some discomfort and down-time during and after treatment.
- Are results immediate?
First results are usually visible 2 weeks weeks after treatment and full results after approximately 4 months (as platelets stimulate the release of growth factors which assist in collagen regeneration).
Improves damaged and aged skin, as well as hair loss.
