PRP FAQS:

  1. What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy?
PRP uses a patient's own blood to accelerate tissue regeneration and repair, including remodelling of collagen fibres, blood vessels and hair structures. It is prescribed to treat skin aging, hair thinning and hair loss, and patients usually choose this treatment as an alternative to cosmetic injections.

  2. How is PRP used?
Blood is taken directly from the patient (similar to a blood test) and centrifuged to separate red blood cells from PRP. The PRP is then injected directly into the treatment area to encourage tissue regeneration and repair.

  3. How many treatments are required?
The number of treatments varies for everyone, however three treatments 4-6 weeks apart is often prescribed.

  4. What happens afterwards?
Most patients can resume their normal activities after treatment (eg, return to work). Some clients may experience some discomfort and down-time during and after treatment.

  5. Are results immediate?
First results are usually visible 2 weeks after treatment and full results after approximately 4 months.
