FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  1. What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy?
PRP uses a patient's own blood to accelerate tissue regeneration and repair (including remodelling of collagen fibres, blood vessels and hair structures). It is prescribed to treat aging skin (dryness, course texture, loss of tone) and certain types of hair loss and general hair thinning. Patients usually choose this treatment as a natural alternative to cosmetic injections.

  2. How is PRP used?
Blood is taken directly from the patient (similar to a blood test) and centrifuged to separate red blood cells from PRP. The PRP is then injected directly into the treatment area to encourage tissue regeneration and repair.

  3. How many treatments are required?
The number of treatments required vary for everyone. Three treatments 4-6 weeks apart is often prescribed.

  4. What happens afterwards?
Most patients can resume their normal activities after treatment (eg, return to work). Some clients may experience some discomfort and down-time during and after treatment.

  5. Are results immediate?
First results are usually visible 2 weeks weeks after treatment and full results after approximately 4 months.
